Sports
“I think that if
we asked some sportsman the ultimate secret of his victories, more than
anything he would tell us that he wins because he is happy. Happiness,
therefore, is the consequence of an orderly heart. A happiness to share because
if I keep it to myself, it remains a seed; if instead I share it, it becomes a
flower.“
With these words
from a recent interview, Pope Francis makes us reflect on how sports are always
opportunities for moments of joy and happiness. Not only that, but as he also reminds us,
sports are an opportunity for inclusion, support, and respect for diversity,
"... those five circles that ring together and end up overlapping..."
Our community
has always had a soul in movement, and wanted to make movement and sport an
integral part of it. Adapted motor and sports activities are aimed at embracing
and improving quality of life not only on the physical and motor level, but also
psychological and social well-being.
Each activity is
designed and organized in an adaptive way and led by qualified professionals in
order to reinforce existing movement skills and abilities and discover new
ones. These skills transfer to different contexts of daily life and help to
build physical autonomy.
At the center of
the various sports projects is the person with their different needs,
characteristics, interests, and passions. At Chicco, you will find one
person meditating during yoga class, someone else dressed as a judoka intent on
training with their belt, others with goggles and caps swimming in the pool,
and another who simply has fun experimenting with creativity and
expressiveness.
Everyone has the
opportunity to participate and experiment in what excites them most. They
participate knowing they’re always maintaining the dimension of sharing and community
that is part of a real sports team.
