The homes 'focolari'
The homes,
hearths, or “focolari,” are the heart of the community, the houses in
which community life takes place.
The individual focolare is a place of livelihood and relationship building; it brings people with and without disabilities together, living all of parts of their lives together. A focolare is the home of people who are welcomed into the community, who in turn welcome visitors and volunteers, thus creating the basis for strong relationships and fulfilling lives even through disabilities.
There are currently three focolare that house
20 people with disabilities, assistants, and volunteers: Il Chicco(The Grain),
La Vigna (The Vineyard) and L’Ulivo (The Olive Tree).

including:
yoga, judo, physiotherapy, ceramics, paper making, horticulture, sensory stimulation activities, a swimming pool and music
therapy, and where public events for the community also take place.
